Spring Fling...

Spring fling, because I'm "flinging" lots of picture from our past few weeks enjoying spring on here... It has been a really good month. The weather has been pretty good so we have had a lot of time outside. Eric has been getting home early so we have had a lot of time together in the afternoons.

Some days, we're so tired that we can't make it to the bed for nap...

Easter was really neat to celebrate this year with Ellie. There was much about the day that she actually got this year. It was hard to try and explain the meaning of Easter to her in "pleasant" terms, because, well, it was anything but that. I was reminded of the amount of sacrifice, through trying to put it into words a 2 year old could somewhat get. But, I was also reminded of how glorious of a day it was, especially when I heard her little voice shouting, "He has risen!"

We also learned how to hunt eggs. The first time we went, she just stared at all the craziness and by the time she snapped out of it, all the eggs were gone. Eric got her practicing at home, and she was game on for the next hunt.

William also was in on the Easter festivities.

Playgroup Easter Egg hunt. It's always entertaining trying to get this pics!

Snacks in eggs.

Our one family Easter picture...

Eric has become quite the carpenter these days. After church, he and Ellie built a planter for me.

Ellie and I made this to use when we talked about the Easter story. She came running out Sunday morning to see if the tomb was empty.

I also wanted to start a tradition of making a special cake for Easter, so Nini made us a lamb. "Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!"

Also, William has made his way up to the big bath. Ellie loves helping bathe him, feet only.

We also spent a weekend in Memphis for Eric's cousin, Valerie, wedding. It was a beautiful day and a fun visit with family. We spent a fun afternoon at the zoo, but sure missed Papoo!

Taking it all in,

A few attempts of some sister brother pictures before the wedding.

With typical results... Shhh, WoWo. Trying to learn to hold him not so tight.

I didn't take a ton of pictures, harder to do with 2 little ones, but Ellie and GiGi got some good dancing time in.

The setting for the wedding was beautiful!

What we do now most afternoons when daddy gets home...

Om, can I say drama queen??? I know dad, she gets it from me...

We also had our dear friends the Flannery's come into town from LA. We had a fun day at BG's house them and our friend Rachel, letting the kids play.

JB, Ellie, Caroline, and Harris.

One afternoon we walked to the park to try out our kite flying skills.

And William tried some rice cereal. Not a fan, so we skipped it and moved on to the good stuff, sweet potatoes. (Next post, fully devoted to this guy:)

We spent a morning at the Gardens, looking for birds, turtles, talking to every single person who passed, and having a picnic. My attempt to get all 3 of us.

Yes, that is Ellie wondering off in the background... Don't worry, she is always talking so I know where she is. And no, I don't usually let her wander.

Here we go again...

So life has been good. Each day Ellie gets smarter and more opinionated (aka a little bit more of a handful) each day, but she also gets sweeter each day, telling me she "Loves me up to the moon and stars and on rainy days and sunny days... Stuff like that so it all evens out. William is so smiley and go with the flow. He is so sweet to be around and watch. But, more to come on him soon! Well, trying to type while holding a squirmy little one is not the easiest thing, so I'll be back soon with more about this squirmy little guy!
