Our little buddy

Sweet William. It's finally your turn! How we have loved watching you grow. It is hard to imagine life without you. People ask how things are with 2, but I can barely remember what it was like. You seem like you've always been a part of us!
Here you are growing....

One month old
Our big boy. 11 lbs 11 oz off the chart for height
Lots of dark hair.

Two months old.
My little Valentine. You smiled at me this month too!

3 months old.

4 months old! There's that little smile.
This month you were 14 lbs. 5 oz and 27 inches.

You started to roll over this month from your back to tummy. You love to lay on your tummy and look around. You get stuck though and can't get back over, that does not make you happy.

You always have something in your mouth.

I love all of the faces you make. You have so many different expressions, especially when Ellie is around. Right now Ellie is a little overwhelming to you at times. She wants to play with you so badly, but has not yet mastered the whole gentle thing yet. And, the longer she sits by you or holds you, the wilder she gets.

She is making you into a tough little guy though. We had to take you to the eye doctor after her finger got your little eye. You were fine and she was "Soddy."

This is a good look at what I think your personality will be like. You are just laid back. Content to swing, content to be held. In this picture you're like, "You want me to pose for another picture? Sure why not?"

Here you're thinking, "OK things are getting a little too crazy on my right."

These pictures are so you right now. This is right after you woke up from a nap. You nap swaddled in the swing and will sleep for 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon. When you wake up, you lay there content, looking at your feet, until I come and get you. Then you are all smiles. You are usually this way. Unless your hungry (you still eat about 5 times a day and once at night) or overly sleepy, you are smiley. You also love to laugh. Sometimes you will just find random things hilarious, like your sister swinging. You also drool a lot... I even think I see 2 little teeth on the bottom.

You love to cross those little feet.

One of your many expressions. Oh, and all that brown hair has almost fallen out. Your new baby hair looks light. I always pictured you to have dark hair, but maybe not.

It's funny, the doctor is a tiny bit worried about his weight gain because he's dropped into the 25%, but with those cheeks, who'd of ever guessed?

I finally, somehow, after probably over 100 attempts, captured you and your sister together, both smiling. Your daddy had y'all sitting together, and you thought it was so funny. And, Ellie could leave you alone long enough to smile at the camera. Of course, she doesn't have a shirt on... But it is one of my favorites! I hope this is something I see for a long time to come. (Look at Ellie's little hand. I just love it!)

I realized our shirtless girl, and tried to rush her into some clothes for another picture, but the magic was over. You were moving on! Oh sweet William, we love you so very much. You bring so many laughs and smiles into our days, as well as the sweetest little sounds I've ever hear. We love you little buddy!

Spring Fling...

Spring fling, because I'm "flinging" lots of picture from our past few weeks enjoying spring on here... It has been a really good month. The weather has been pretty good so we have had a lot of time outside. Eric has been getting home early so we have had a lot of time together in the afternoons.

Some days, we're so tired that we can't make it to the bed for nap...

Easter was really neat to celebrate this year with Ellie. There was much about the day that she actually got this year. It was hard to try and explain the meaning of Easter to her in "pleasant" terms, because, well, it was anything but that. I was reminded of the amount of sacrifice, through trying to put it into words a 2 year old could somewhat get. But, I was also reminded of how glorious of a day it was, especially when I heard her little voice shouting, "He has risen!"

We also learned how to hunt eggs. The first time we went, she just stared at all the craziness and by the time she snapped out of it, all the eggs were gone. Eric got her practicing at home, and she was game on for the next hunt.

William also was in on the Easter festivities.

Playgroup Easter Egg hunt. It's always entertaining trying to get this pics!

Snacks in eggs.

Our one family Easter picture...

Eric has become quite the carpenter these days. After church, he and Ellie built a planter for me.

Ellie and I made this to use when we talked about the Easter story. She came running out Sunday morning to see if the tomb was empty.

I also wanted to start a tradition of making a special cake for Easter, so Nini made us a lamb. "Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!"

Also, William has made his way up to the big bath. Ellie loves helping bathe him, feet only.

We also spent a weekend in Memphis for Eric's cousin, Valerie, wedding. It was a beautiful day and a fun visit with family. We spent a fun afternoon at the zoo, but sure missed Papoo!

Taking it all in,

A few attempts of some sister brother pictures before the wedding.

With typical results... Shhh, WoWo. Trying to learn to hold him not so tight.

I didn't take a ton of pictures, harder to do with 2 little ones, but Ellie and GiGi got some good dancing time in.

The setting for the wedding was beautiful!

What we do now most afternoons when daddy gets home...

Om, can I say drama queen??? I know dad, she gets it from me...

We also had our dear friends the Flannery's come into town from LA. We had a fun day at BG's house them and our friend Rachel, letting the kids play.

JB, Ellie, Caroline, and Harris.

One afternoon we walked to the park to try out our kite flying skills.

And William tried some rice cereal. Not a fan, so we skipped it and moved on to the good stuff, sweet potatoes. (Next post, fully devoted to this guy:)

We spent a morning at the Gardens, looking for birds, turtles, talking to every single person who passed, and having a picnic. My attempt to get all 3 of us.

Yes, that is Ellie wondering off in the background... Don't worry, she is always talking so I know where she is. And no, I don't usually let her wander.

Here we go again...

So life has been good. Each day Ellie gets smarter and more opinionated (aka a little bit more of a handful) each day, but she also gets sweeter each day, telling me she "Loves me up to the moon and stars and on rainy days and sunny days... Stuff like that so it all evens out. William is so smiley and go with the flow. He is so sweet to be around and watch. But, more to come on him soon! Well, trying to type while holding a squirmy little one is not the easiest thing, so I'll be back soon with more about this squirmy little guy!
